29 & Happy 4th
By the time Sunday, July 4th rolled around, everyone was feeling better unless actively coughing, and with the negative covid test / RSV assumption, we went about our business but wearing masks and not getting too close. We enjoyed Will Smith's saving of the Independence Day fireworks in the evening and then a whole 'nother day off for Dylan on Monday!
We hosted dear Baylor friends for a dinner and ice cream out, and it was so lovely reconnecting. It's also wonderful watching my children click with my own friends! Ada ended up feeling like old friends with Miss Amy.
When it's all written down one after the other like this, it all seems like a lot's happening! But there is much down time and piddling about the house, garden, neighborhood. And I like that. Our best-ever library a block down the street displayed this creative outdoor storytime since indoor meetings haven't yet resumed, and all 4 of them really loved it. We walked from post to post to read a page at a time of a beautiful picture book. Almost like reading a regular book, they kind of raced through to see what happens and then started over to take in all the detail, it was great!
