21 weeks and a thus-far catch-up

#5 is on the way! We're all looking forward to whoever the new addition is, but the children are all over-the-moon excited. And that's lovely.

So, to sum up a little of how the first half has gone, everyone's good! We're all healthy, which is wonderful news given the past year, and each of them is ticking along nicely in their own little niches: Paul, 9, keeps himself very busy being the big brother of the crew; Ada, 7, is breezing through her schoolwork and loving it; Jack, 4, loved playing soccer and now loves playing t-ball, both of which are awesome to watch; and Pippa, 2, has finally turned a corner of fussiness to be quite pleasant and funny most of the time, yay.

We told the kids about the new one in January, pretty early, when s/he was just the size of a kidney bean, and so they each carried a bean with them over to Nana & Pappy's house in Mississippi to share the news. The kids turned pretty quickly to having 5 Little Ducks in the family, and then for ages we hadn't named this one anything; but somewhere Baby Cinco came along so that's what I'm sticking with. With 4 others in tow and homeschooling, there hasn't exactly been the same amount of time to devote to weekly bump shots or updates, but I'd feel bad for this baby is there were no record at all of loving him or her from the beginning while the others have had such detailed books. So here we are: a guilt-induced pregnancy blog ;).

Halfway Baby Cinco! Keep going...

And now a little more through pictures over the last 4.5 months:

Paul & Ada's birthday and actually freezing Mardi Gras & Ash Wednesday (like, 28º!)

First bump shot and social media announcement and then happy to receive a Covid vax!

St. Joseph's Day at the Shrine of St. Joseph in Gretna
Palm Sunday

Easter!
Easter vacay field trip to the Aquarium - 1st time in ages!
What a glorious Spring 2021!
18 & 20 wks
Born 2 Run 5k on the Algiers levee - Ada won her age group!
Youth Run NOLA 5k in City Park! Dylan ran with the boys & they were fantastic! I don't know many 4 year olds who run a 5k in 38 minutes. Ada waited up for me for a little bit, and we finished strong just a couple of minutes behind them. So great!
Storyland after the 5k and Pip's 1st time old enough to enjoy it, which she clearly did.
Happy Mother's Day!
SO much going on in the garden, but instead of posting a "head shot" of each bloom ... on a baby post ... I'll just include a couple of bouquets we've made.
